Irritating Whale God

So I got broadsided by an old character I've had no muse for for about 5 years or so, who is now back with an all new backstory, love interest and haircut, and has brought with him a bunch of new characters and a story to go with. One of them is the above, dubbed the irritating whale god because it won't tell me its name or particularly relevance to the rest of the story yet, it just keeps chuckling and telling me to work it out. It's been floating about my head all day, I thought drawing it might help. I was wrong. I hate characters sometimes, I really damn well do. They're a construct of my own imagination I should not be confused as to who they are or what they do. 
The whale god and his friends are probably here to stay though because I even have a working title for the damn story, which never happens unless its an idea I'll not get rid of.

A tale of 3 people and a dog. 
Tragic events catapult 3 people with a questionable relationship dynamic into a journey of magic, self discovery, and a puppy that refuses to be trained.

Seriously though the characters in this make me yearn for the ability to actually draw people so that I could draw some of the random interactions that keep flashing through my mind. I might even learn, just for this purpose. 

In the meantime, this is the irritating whale god that appears in the story. It sparkles. Not even joking, its a sparkly spirit whale that takes perverse pleasure in confusing people. Probably good friends with the cheshire cat, they have a similar sense of humour. 

I don't know how my brain comes up with this stuff, I really don't, and I don't think I want to know
